Il a été reçu par le Président des Relations Internationales, Mr Mehdi BENDIMERAD : Le Président de l’UKABC Mr Abderrezzak Osmani en visite au FCE.

Le Président de la Commission Relations Internationales, Mr Mehdi BENDIMERAD, a reçu aujourd’hui au siège du FCE le président du Conseil des entreprises algéro-britanniques (UKABC), Mr Abderezzak Osmani. Les échanges ont porté sur le renforcement de la coopération entre les entreprises algériennes et britanniques.

Mr BENDIMERAD a informé, à cette occasion, la délégation de l’UKABC de la dynamique du FCE à l’international à travers laquelle le Forum souhaite faire la promotion du marché algérien et les opportunités d’affaires qu’il recèle.

A ce propos, il a rassuré de la disponibilité du Forum des Chefs d’Entreprises à accompagner les entreprises britanniques qui souhaitent investir en Algérie%.

De son côté, Mr Osmani a exprimé la disponibilité du Conseil des entreprises algéro-britanniques à œuvrer également à la promotion de l’image de l’Algérie et du marché algérien auprès des entreprises britanniques.

Il est utile de souligner que les échanges entre les deux pays ont augmenté de 280% les dernières années.

London’s blessings for UKABC

The….  UK Algeria Business Council (UKABC) could hardly have hoped for a better endorsement. Set up in 2010, it was included in a business delegation led by David Howell (Lord Howell), minister of state at the Foreign Office, which visited Algiers between Nov. 26-28.

UKABC was represented by its managing director, Abderrezak Osmani, former chief of Middle East and North African operations for the Commonwealth Business Council (CBC). 

It…………..UKABC had taken part in …. “official” trips but it has worked pretty hard to establish itself, organizing  visits to Algeria for GB businessmen………………


3rd – 5th December 2012/Visit to Algeria of Lord Richard Risby of Haverhill

Visit to Algeria of Lord Richard Risby of Haverhill, Special Envoy for the Economic Partnership with Algeria on 3rd – 5th December 2012.
During his visit, Lord Risby met President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Mr Abdelmalek Sellal, Prime Minister, Mr Mourad Medelci, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Youcef Yousfi, Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr Cherif Rahmani, Minister of Industry, SME’s and Promotion of Investment, Mr Abdellatif Baba Ahmed, Minister of National Education and Mr Abdelkader Messahel, Minister Delegate of Foreign Affairs for Maghrebian and African Affairs.
A Memorandum of Understanding between Algeria and the United Kingdom on the technical management of hospitals was signed between the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform and International Hospitals Group, represented by the British Embassy. The Hassani Isaâd Hospital at Beni Messous in Algiers was chosen as the joint pilot project comprising training, management and organization.
 


27th – 30th November 2012 / Visit of Mr Belkacem Sahli in the United Kingdom

During his visit, Mr Belkacem Sahli met:
- Mr Jeremy Wright, Minister for Prisons and Rehabilitation at the Ministry of Justice;
- Mr Mark Harper, Minister of State for Immigration at the Home Office;
- Mr Alistair Burt, Foreign Office Minister in charge of Middle East and North Africa

Mr Belkacem Sahli also met members of the Algerian Community in Manchester and representatives of Algerian associations and civil society in London.
These meetings were the opportunity for the Secretary of State to hear about the concerns of the Algerian community living in the United Kingdom.
 


19th to 22nd of November 2012/Visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mourad Medelci, to the United Kingdom

H.E.Mourad Medelci, Minister of Foreign Affairs made an official visit to the United Kingdom. On this occasion, he had bilateral discussions with his British counterpart, H.E William Hague and signed with him two Memoranda of Understanding on political consultations and cultural cooperation.
He also met several other British personalities including Lord Jonathan Marland, Minister of Energy and climate change and Chairman of the Business Ambassador's Group, Lord Richard Risby, the Special British representative for the economic partnership with Algeria, Mr Stephen O'Brien, MP and Special Representative of the Prime Minister for the Sahel. Mr Mourad Medelci made a presentation of the business opportunities at the HSBC headquarters.
He also met a number of Members of the British Parliament and attended the Prime Minister’s questions at the House of Commons.
During his stay, Mr Mourad Medelci officially opened the new building of the Algerian Embassy in central London.

La prise d'otages d'In Amenas ne va pas changer le programme du Conseil d’affaires algéro britannique

Le Président de ''UK-ABC'', M. Abderrezak Osmani a indiqué lundi à Londres que la prise d’otages de In Amenas n’allait pas changer le programme du Conseil d’affaires algéro-britannique.
''Nous maintenons la mission commerciale en Algérie prévue en avril prochain avec Enterprise Parliament dirigée par Sir Alan Meale. Les membres du UK-ABC se joignent à la mission pour poursuivre leurs activités comme d'habitude'', a-t-il déclaré à l’APS. ''L'incident terroriste aurait pu se produire n'importe où dans le monde et les Britanniques dans leurs déclarations officielles ont salué et soutenu ouvertement la position ferme du gouvernement algérien face aux terroristes'',
a souligné M. Osmani. ''Evidemment, la perte de vies humaines est toujours regrettable, mais tout le monde s’accorde à dire que l'intervention du gouvernement algérien a permis d’éviter une plus grande perte en vies humaines'', a-t-il encore ajouté. UK-ABC, créé en 2010, assiste régulièrement les compagnies britanniques qui se rendent en Algérie pour la prospection du marché.

La prise d’otages d’In Amenas n’influera pas sur les relations économiques algéro-britanniques (Lord Risby)

LONDRES - Le représentant du Premier ministre britannique chargé de la promotion du partenariat économique avec l’Algérie, Lord Richard Risby a affirmé dimanche que la prise d’otages dans le site gazier de Tiguentourine (In Amenas) n’influerait ’’en aucune façon’’ sur les relations économiques entre le Royaume-Uni et l’Algérie.
’’Nous avons nous mêmes été confrontés aux actions terroristes il y a quinze ou vingt ans. La Grande Bretagne sait parfaitement de quoi il s’agit (…) en aucune manière ce qui vient de se produire en Algérie n’affectera nos relations économiques fortes’’, a souligné Lord Risby dans une déclaration à l’APS.
Il a précisé qu’au sein de la communauté d’affaires britannique, aucune remise en cause n’a été enregistrée concernant le marché algérien, ’’les entreprises britanniques ont maintenu leurs programmes de travail avec ce pays’’, a-t-il ajouté, soulignant que les relations entre les deux pays vont se raffermir davantage.
Le représentant du Premier ministre britannique pour les questions économiques avec l’Algérie a mis en relief l’existence d’un véritable partenariat (avec l’Algérie) appelé à développer un ensemble de domaines qui constituent le cadre global des relations bilatérales’’.
Lord Risby a été nommé par le Premier ministre David Cameron, en tant que Représentant pour le Partenariat Economique avec l’Algérie. Il a effectué une visite en l’Algérie en décembre dernier au cours de laquelle il a été reçu par le président de la République, Abdelaziz Bouteflika et par le Premier ministre, Abdelmalek Sellal, rappelle-t-on.

Cameron’s visit to Algeria confirms excellent ties between Algiers and London

LONDON (United Kingdom)- British Prime Minister David Cameron’s working and friendship visit to Algeria on Wednesday confirms the excellent political and economic relations between the two countries.
The visit is the outcome of the development bilateral relations over the past few years.
Cooperation between Algeria and the UK is "very positive," according to many British officials, who said that the two sides are laying strong foundations for promotion of bilateral ties.
Economic opportunities in Algeria and the country’s democratic process, as part of political reforms, enhance its credibility as a nation with which the UK wants to develop relations

Wednesday 30 January 2013 23 : 48In a statement to the press at the end of his meeting with President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Cameron underlined that his country and Algeria "will stand together in the fight against terrorism."
"Both Algeria and Britain are countries that have suffered from terrorism and we understand each other’s suffering," the British PM said, adding that he discussed with the Head of State the strengthening of strategic partnership in the fight against terrorism in the region.
Cameron explained that the two sides agreed to share intelligence and cooperate in counterterrorism.
British people "understand perfectly that when there is terrorism somewhere, it can cause harm to the countries concerned, but also to us."
Cameron also said that he had "excellent" discussions with President Bouteflika, adding that his visit to Algeria was the first of a British prime minister since 1962.
"We have agreed to forge a strategic partnership between our two countries," he said, adding that an important part of its will be related to security, especially in defence, intelligence and fight against terrorism.
Cameron also said that he discussed with the Head of State the economic relations between the two countries and hoped that the two sides will further strengthen them in the future.
"We also talked about the necessity to strengthen English language teaching in Algeria," he concluded.

UK wants to develop large number of investment projects in Algeria

ALGIERS- Great Britain eyes a "large number" of investment projects in Algeria to further strengthen the economic relations between the two countries, said Thursday Lord Richard Risby, UK Prime Minister Special Envoy for economic partnership with Algeria.
"We have agreed on a large number of Algerian-British investment projects we are hoping to achieve in Algeria," Lord Risby said in a statement to APS after a meeting with Minister for Industry, SMEs and Investment Promotion Cherif Rahmani.
Dubbing "very rich," his meeting with Rahmani, UK Premier envoy wished that these projects would contribute to further reinforce economic relations between both countries.
"We hope that this new year will be that of the materialization of all these initiatives allowing to upgrade more the relations of cooperation between both countries, already at an excellent level," he declared.
The visit of British Premier David Cameron to Algeria has been a "great success," Lord Risby pointed out. Accompanied by an important ministerial delegation, Cameron ended Thursday a two-day working and friendship visit to Algeria.
